LAB PROTOCOLS & BENCHMARKS

A synthetic benchmark score (like Antutu) only tells you what a device can do for 3 minutes before heat builds up. At SMPH Labs, we ignore burst scores. We focus exclusively on sustained computational throughput under real-world stress conditions.

Benchmarking Lab

TEST PROTOCOL: OMEGA

Our standard stress test involves running a graphically intensive open-world game (Genshin Impact / Wuthering Waves) at maximum possible visual settings, 60 or 120 FPS target, maximum screen brightness.

01

ENVIRONMENT

Controlled 24°C ambient, no case, WiFi 6 connected.
02

DURATION

60 continuous minutes of combat and traversal.
03

TELEMETRY

Recording FPS, frame time variance, battery wattage, and CPU/GPU clock speeds via ADB.

THERMAL DECAY CURVE (EXAMPLE)

Visualizing how an S-Tier device compares to a standard Flagship over 60 minutes.

60 FPS 45 FPS 60 MIN 0 MIN
S-Tier (Active Cooling) Standard Flagship (Throttling)

Notice how the standard flagship drops core frequencies after 15 minutes to prevent battery degradation, tanking the frame rate.

THERMAL IMAGING DATA

Thermal Imaging

Using FLIR modules, we track the heat dissipation across the chassis. The best phones spread heat evenly across the entire back glass, using the chassis as a massive heatsink. Phones that concentrate heat near the camera module inevitably throttle much faster, as the SoC is trapped in a thermal pocket.
